For example, technical assistance for blood pressure control may include:
- Promoting team-based care to evaluate high blood pressure including (a) lifestyle, risk factor, and concomitant disorder assessment that may affect prognosis and/or treatment; (b) identifying the cause of high blood pressure; and (c) assessing the presence or absence of other organ damage and cardiovascular disease.
- Using medication to reduce the complications of hypertension.
- Ensuring appropriate care management occurs including follow-up medical appointments and medication adjustments as needed until BP reaches treatment goals as outlined by the guidelines.
