SAMHSA Provides Behavioral Health Screening Tools
Despite the high prevalence of mental health and substance use problems, too many Americans go without treatment, in part because their disorders go undiagnosed, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Regular screenings in primary care and other healthcare settings enables earlier identification of mental health and substance use disorders, which translates into earlier care. Screenings should be provided to people of all ages, even the young and the elderly.
Go to SAMHSA’s Screening Tools webpage to view sample screening forms, depression screening tools, drug and alcohol use screening tools and more.
Contracted by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), atom Alliance is working with providers to improve behavioral health screenings and follow-up treatment for older adults. Get involved today!
