May is the Time to Raise Cardiac Awareness: New Patient Resources Now Available
National High Blood Pressure Education Month raises awareness about the impact of hypertension. The observance takes place each May and aims to reduce death and disability related to high blood pressure through professional, patient and public education.
The National Stroke Association also recognizes May as American Stroke Month to increase stroke awareness and educate Americans that stroke is largely preventable, treatable and beatable. The observance encourages providers and caregivers to raise awareness of the simple prevention and treatment education options that can help reduce stroke incidence.
Qsource works with primary care and cardiology practices to improve the ABCS of cardiac risk reduction. Our efforts align with Million Hearts ® goals. A variety of new resources – including patient education videos – have recently been added to our Improving Cardiac Health & Reducing Disparities webpage.
