SIE Issues Call for Innovative Practices
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid’s (CMS) Quality Improvement Organization program has recently established the Strategic Innovation Engine (SIE) to help advance quality healthcare innovations. Its mission is to identify, evaluate and spread proven innovations to achieve the three-part aim of better care, healthier people and communities, and smarter spending.
A call has been issued for innovative practices in five topics that would be of great interest to your community. The topics include:
- Managing multiple chronic conditions
- Engaging patients and families as active members of the care team
- Coordinating care within and across settings
- Streamlining patient flow
- Integrating behavioral health into care
atom Alliance encourages your submissions. Selected practices will receive public recognition for their work, unique networking opportunities, participation in presentation or poster sessions at CMS’ Quality Conference and broad rapid dissemination of the practice through SIE Communications channels to foster spread throughout the healthcare community. CMS will brand the practice with the organization’s name and provide a web badge acknowledging its selection as an SIE-approved practice.
atom urges interested people to:
- Sign up for the SIE Mailing List. Stay up to date with information about the application process and other SIE activities.
- Download the Application. A PDF of the application is on the website now. Online submission will be available in early June with a due date of July 1, 2016.
